About Us

We Believe that the Bible is True

The Book of Timothy was written by the Apostle Paul between 64 A.D & 65 A.D. Paul was not perfect by any means. He actually persecuted the followers of Jesus Christ for three years before his conversion to Christianity.

We want to share a passage out of the Book of Timothy to show how accurately it describes much of what we see going on today, even though it was written nearly 2,000 years ago.

2 Timothy 3:1-4 NIV

Verse 1. But mark this: There will be terrible times in the last days. v2. People will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boastful, proud, abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy; v3. without love, unforgiving, slanderous, without self-control, brutal, not lovers of good; v4. treacherous, rash, conceited, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God – having a form of godliness but denying its power.

How Our Beliefs Influence Our Business Name

We believe that God is the Dragon Slayer in our lives. We believe that God fights our battles everyday.

Rev 20:2 ESV

And He (God) seized the dragon – that ancient serpent, who is the devil and Satan, and bound him for a thousand years.

Isaiah 27:1

In that day, the Lord (our God) will punish leviathan (the devil), the fleeing serpent, with His great & mighty sword, even leviathan the twisted serpent; And He (God) will kill the DRAGON (devil) who lives in the sea.

When we made the decision to start a company, the main objective was that we desired to have a positive impact on people’s lives. With that concept in mind we developed three main goals for our business model.

  • Positively impact people’s lives
  • Provide specialty coffees & products that are of the highest quality to our customers
  • Look for ways to engage & encourage our customers to positively impact other people’s lives

To make a positive impact on people’s lives

Action Plan

Positively Impacting People’s Lives

Global Impact: Our 100% Organic Arabica Coffee is procured through Fair Trade from various Economically Disadvantaged Global Locations. We often pay higher prices for our coffee. We have one single coffee broker that works directly with the Fair Trade Producers, Farmers, or Coffee Co-Ops. By eliminating unnecessary middle men, it provides the coffee producers a fair, equitable, and oftentimes higher income without exploitation. The higher premium paid for the coffee beans is then reinvested into the farms, paying the workers fairly and equitably, and into community development, such as building schools.

Local Impact: In an effort to have a positive impact on people’s lives locally, we support as many local and regional area businesses as possible. We especially try to support small, family-run businesses. We also send out “Positive Impact Challenges,” which are suggestions to encourage our customers to have positive impacts in their own local communities.

Provide High Quality Products

We believe that by establishing positive personal relationships with our coffee producers, paired with paying fair/ equitable and often higher prices for the coffee beans, it encourages the producers to work diligently to provide us with the highest quality coffee beans possible.

We apply that same principle to our other suppliers by working with them on a personal level, building strong and positive relationships with each one of them. We believe that positivity given will result in positivity returned.

Customer Encouragement & Engagement

We will send our online customers a “Positive Impact Challenge” with their full size coffee orders. These challenges will be delivered in a fun and engaging way and are designed to encourage our customers to positively impact people’s lives themselves. It is the customer’s choice if they want to take on the challenge or not. We sure hope they will, and then come back and share their experience(s).

Business Principles, Values, & Relationships

Building healthy positive relationships equates to building trust, and to us that is of utmost importance. We want our customers to feel like they belong to the Dragon Slayer’s Coffee Community. We want them to know they play an integral role in making a positive impact globally with each coffee purchase they make. Our customers also make a positive impact locally with every Artisan Goods purchase they make and “Positive Impact Challenge” they complete.

Relationships we make in conducting our business are fostered and nurtured carefully over time.

In Fair Trade, economic opportunities are created for the disadvantaged coffee producers. Fair & equitable payment is made directly to the coffee producers. Fair Trade makes sure that not one person is being exploited, mistreated, or taken advantage of. Our Mission is to have a positive impact on people’s lives, not a negative one.

Our coffee beans are only sourced from producers who practice healthy environmental practices & stewardship.

Global & Local Communities

The premium price that is paid for the coffee beans is reinvested into community development, which has a positive impact on the farms and the social and economic conditions of that community.

We source as many goods as possible from local vendors so that they can grow as we grow to help strengthen our local businesses & communities.

We encourage our customers to positively impact people’s lives in their local communities by sending them a “Positive Impact Challenge“ with every online coffee order.

Dragon Slayer Coffee only uses Fair Trade 100% Organic Arabica Coffee beans, (typically graded above 90%). Because our company is small, we are not organic or fair trade certified. However, our roaster only sources organic, fair trade green coffee beans. Why? Because we know that our coffee represents our brand and we want our brand to provide only the best of the best to our customers. We also personally prefer to provide our customers the flavors, natural fragrances, and taste of these specialty coffee beans.
